Guy moved next door to you. Lives there for years. Periodically comes have some tea with you and you don't chase him away. Then you die and he tells your heirs that he's practically a member of the family too and deserves a share of the estate. Calls your heirs greedy because they won't share. Makes sense? No?
Bafokeng resources are communal resources, owned through the RBA by people who's families originate from there. Those people are so inter-related it's not funny and it is the job of dikgosana to know members of these nations and to represent them. Is there possible corruption on how these assets are managed? Maybe, maybe not. I have no proof either way. But, it gets very irritating when assets of a communal people becomes a human rights issue. The South African government has an obligation to South Africans. Bafokeng only have an obligation to Bafokeng-born people. Giving more than that should be at their discretion.
